Bridie Mcdermott
Liana roia
Bridie McDermott is a 20-year-old Tamworth-based student studying a Bachelor of Media at Macquarie University. Growing up in a country town, she has always had a significant online presence and is able to connect with people in the online realm. Her experience running an environmental awareness Instagram account and a successful twitter makes her role as social media producer for ‘Inside Out’ very fitting. Bridie has a knack for filmmaking which she has let flourish when it comes to creating and editing the promotional media for the broadcast. Her hope is that by promoting the show she will not only bring in listeners but encourage conversations about the topics and stories presented on-air, using the Inside Out Instagram account to do so. It is Bridie’s desire for audiences to learn more about the handling of COVID-19 from multiple perspectives that are often overlooked or considered unlike what is typically showcased in the media.
Liana Roia is 21 years old and is in her final year of studying a Bachelor of Media with a dual major in Journalism and PR and Social Media. Liana has previously worked for a non-for-profit as a social and digital media coordinator and is passionate about storytelling. She thinks it’s incredible to be making journalism about such a unique time in our lives and is excited to share this through the medium of sound. It is undetermined where life will take her next but she is planning to pursue a career in the media industry.
