Izzi RonkSLEY

Sara Akbeek
Izzi Ronksley has been studying Media since early 2019, with a double major in Sound & Screen Production, and Radio, Digital Audio & Broadcast Production. Her radio works include: a Vox Pops during the COVID-19 pandemic (specifically during the toilet paper crisis); a feature centering around transgender identities and its impact on both the individual and their loved ones; and a second feature revolving around COVID-19s impact on workers that are often hidden in plain sight. In her Screen production works she has completed three short films; one as a 1st AD on a film entitled ‘Chewbacca,’ the other as a sound recordist on the short film ‘Cadmium Red’ and finally she has directed and produced her own short film ‘What We Leave Behind’.
26-year-old Saher Hashmi is a full-time student studying a Bachelor of Arts at Macquarie University. Growing up in Singapore she has always loved tuning into the radio, her favourite programme being Muttons in the Morning on 98.7 FM. She is a natural-born leader with a strong work ethic, communication and listening skills, encouraging others to achieve their tasks at the highest of quality. It through this skillset that her decision to produce ‘Inside Out’ comes as no surprise. Saher’s passion for celebrity culture and the arts have allowed her to organise and formulate a show that the 2SER audience demographic will want to listen to as it combines both entertainment with necessary information. Saher hopes that audiences will gain a clearer understanding in how people understand the reactions to the pandemic and that everyone's experiences are different.
Completing a Bachelor of Arts with a dual major in PR and Social Media and Radio and Broadcasting, 23-year-old Sara Akbeek dreams of working at the SBS radio station. Sara grew up in Syria and is passionate about creating media that can be understood by different cultures. She is also fluent in four different languages and loves working with multilingual communities.
